Cityline 2018- Dave Lackie Event

Hi lovelies, I’m super excited to be writing this recap as I had the BEST day Friday.  I was lucky enough to get to attend a Dave Lackie event at Cityline in Toronto!  Beauty Editor and Cityline Beauty Expert Dave Lackie invited us to the station in Toronto where we were treated to a breakfast hosted by Philosophy, and to be in the audience for a taping of the show.  We also got to hangout with Dave, host of the show Tracy Moore and the producers and crew.  We were sent home with an extremely generous gift bag and I am already loving so many of the products we received.

Here is a quick recap of the morning:

Jason Wu- Fragrance for her VIP Dave Lackie Dinner Event

I am beyond thrilled that I get to write a recap of Dave Lackie’s VIP dinner for Jason Wu and the launch of his first fragrance for her.  I was so lucky to get invited to attend at Canoe Restaurant et Bar in Toronto this past Monday and I am still in the “Someone pinch me” state.  I was in awe with the spectacular view as we were on the 54th floor of the Toronto-Dominion Centre.  Upon arriving I could see the CN Tower directly in view from the window where I was standing, and there were gorgeous displays of flowers and Jason Wu’s fragrance bottles surrounding them.  The packaging for this fragrance is beyond beautiful.  A gorgeous thick glass with a gold circular top and the fragrance itself is a light pink almost rose gold colour- I fell in love instantly.

Cityline Taping- Dave Lackie Event

On Friday I had the pleasure of attending Cityline in Toronto- the longest running and most successful daytime show for women in Canadian history.  Shout-out and huge THANK YOU to Dave Lackie for inviting me, and giving me this amazing experience.

Upon arrival we were brought up to a green room,  where breakfast was served by Coty Prestige.  They did a great job, so impressed by the selection!

Here are some photos:

How cute are these mini bagels?!

I had such a wonderful time with some of my favourite friends who are beauty bloggers as well.  I highly suggest you follow these ladies, they are all so sweet and have great content:

In this photo: Myself, Grieta and Christine.

With some of my favourite girls!!!  Cityline took this photo of us below and posted it on their Twitter feed:

These girls are absolutely so sweet.  I am so thankful to have met them all thanks to Dave Lackie and beauty blogging.  From left to right: Christine, myself, Nicci and Cat.

This taping was on a Friday so we got to see a Fashion Friday segment live with Lynn Spence!!! Here are a few photos of some of my favourite outfits shown:

We also had the treat of seeing Dave’s beauty and fragrance segments!  He and Tracy Moore the host of the show are soo funny together!

The amount of work the crew puts in is unbelievable.  When you watch the show you really don’t know what goes on behind the scenes, and the amount of team work and dedication it takes to make everything happen.  Absolutely phenomenal people, they were all very sweet and great at explaining how things work.

I also got to see the control/production room, this was so cool!

This is where the director calls the shots, and the videos and content used in the show gets uploaded (to name a few).  Lots of team work happening in this room!

After the show I went down to take some photos of the set up close.  It is so lovely, I love the vibe they have going on.  So pretty, fresh and modern.

I also had my photo taken with Lynn Spence and Candy Signorini, they were both SO funny and great to chat with:

Thank you SO MUCH to Dave and everyone at Cityline for having us.  You treated us to an amazing experience, and showed us a side of broadcast that not many people get to see unless they work in the industry.  The crew really is like a family there, and it is inspiring to see a group of individuals come together, work hard and produce something so many people love like Cityline.

Here is a photo of the extremely generous gift bag we received.  Will be doing some individual posts on some of these products:

I also did a short question interview with Dave on his role with Cityline, and the beauty industry in general.  I wanted to include it in this post, but it would be too long, and I also really think it deserves its own feature/post.  I will instead include it as a separate piece, so stay tuned on my blog this week for that- you won’t want to miss this!  Those of you that already know Dave as well know how kind he is, and I am so grateful he took the time to answer some questions I asked him, and that I can share this with all of you.  I cannot wait for you to see that post this week!

The taping we attended will be airing on Friday, September 9th on CityTV.  If you missed the fun, you can see it all under the hashtag #citylinebeauty.

Thierry Mugler- Angel Muse Event

I am SO excited to share my wonderful experience at the Dave Lackie twitter follower event, this time for Mugler‘s new fragrance Angel Muse.  I was fascinated to learn about Angel Muse, as well as the fragrance industry!

The event was held at the Arcadian Lofts in downtown Toronto.  Upon arrival we were treated to cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

The venue is so nice and the view was gorgeous, especially as the sun was setting.

I was so excited to see some of my favourite bloggers and friends from Toronto and area!

Pictured below: Myself and Vanessa Stott from Cook & Contour.  Thank you to Adele Wright for taking this pic, was so great to see her as well!

Pictured below is myself and Daniel J and we are laughing as usual!  Photo credit to the amazing Cat Forsley (she is absolutely phenomenal- check out her blog

It was such a pleasure to see Dave Lackie again, he is such an inspiration to me and so genuinely kind.  I also met celebrity makeup artist, Nina Westbury!  She is so funny – an absolute joy to be around.  I was also seated near Hudson’s Bay Fragrance Buyer, Heather Josey!  It was such an honour to get to listen to stories and work experiences from all of the people mentioned in this post.  Heather was so lovely and Cat Forsley and I had a great chat about social media, fragrances and blogging with her.

Pictured below is myself with Heather.  Thank you Cat for taking this photo for me!!

Pictured below from left to right: Nicci, Nina, Dave, myself, Cat and Cookie.  I had the best time with these amazing people!!  Having the chance to chat with Nina, Dave and Heather are just once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and I am so grateful.

Pictured here is the menu for the night, everything was absolutely DELICIOUS!

Now let’s talk fragrance! WOW.  Angel Muse is HEAVENLY- no pun intended hehe.  I am a huge fan of Mugler‘s Angel Eau Sucree, and I can say that Mugler has done it again and Angel Muse is now one of my fav’s as well.  It has notes of hazelnut cream, grapefruit, pink peppercorn, patchouli and vetiver.  When I sprayed it on myself for the first time at the event, I was so impressed with how seductive it is.  It has an effect that makes you feel powerful and confident yet extremely soft at the same time- it’s truly a beautiful blend.  We were also told that Thierry Mugler is very involved in the company and all of the decisions made.  We were also told that Thierry is extremely kind and that Mugler as a brand is an absolute joy to work for.

There was also some stunning Mugler fashion on display.

This handbag is everything!! If you know me, you know that I love black and white together, the stripe effect is one of my favourite things.  It is such a GORGEOUS piece.

As if all of this wasn’t enough, we were also sent home with this incredible gift bag!

Left to right: red lipstick- which is not sold in stores and has been discontinued, the Angel Muse fragrance and an iPhone case.

Here are some photos of each individual product:

I had the most incredible time.  A huge THANK YOU to Dave Lackie and his team,  your events are SO well done and everyone feels so special when they attend.  We received the true beauty editor experience and I am so grateful.  Did you miss our tweets?  You can look under the hashtag #AngelMuse to see all of the fun!  You can also find Dave Lackie on Twitter and if you haven’t already, I suggest checking out his online editorial digital magazine BEAUTY the guide and subscribing to his newsletter.

Shiseido- Share Beauty Event

Love, beauty, relationships and connections.  A few words that come to mind to describe the new Shiseido Share Beauty (#sharebeauty) campaign.  I was lucky enough to be chosen by Dave Lackie to attend this event, which focused on the new campaign launch.

Dave Lackie, Editor of BEAUTY the guide and Elaine Shigeishi, General Manager for Shiseido, hosted this event for 30 of Dave’s Twitter followers.  Shiseido is a beautiful brand inside and out.  This same beauty the company possesses, shines through in this new campaign.  Share Beauty was created to remind us that beauty starts from within.

Cityline- Dave Lackie Twitter Follower Event

Last week I was fortunate enough to be chosen to attend a Cityline taping as an audience member (plus one guest) in downtown Toronto!!  Dave Lackie teamed up with Cityline, and he had another Twitter follower event contest on his blog.  I cannot express how amazing this experience was!  This post will cover the main highlights.

Upon arrival we were brought up to a “green room” for coffee, pastries, donuts and croissants, all thanks to Shiseido.  There was a spot at the front of the room with a Cityline backdrop where we could take photos.  The room quickly filled, and the energy was starting to build.  Everyone I spoke to was so excited!

Pictured below is the breakfast Shiseido provided for us:

Estée Lauder- Contour and Skincare Breakfast

In September,  I entered Dave Lackie’s VIP follower event contest for the Estée Lauder Contouring Breakfast (skincare and makeup) in downtown Toronto, and I was one of the lucky winners chosen to attend.  Dave is the editor-in-chief and founder of “BEAUTY the guide”, and also appears as the beauty expert on “Citytv’s Cityline” TV show.  For my first post I wanted to blog about this amazing event I was fortunate enough to get to attend.

When I woke up that morning, I was so excited to be in the “big city” and could not wait to get to the event to meet Dave and all of the other beauty enthusiasts present in Dave’s circle on Twitter.  The event started at 9:00 a.m. in downtown Toronto at the Arcadian Lofts.  Here are a few photos of the venue:
