Holtz Spa & Rinaldo Hair Designers Review

Hi lovelies, hope your week is off to a great start! I know mine is because I had the pleasure of receiving some pampering at Holtz Spa and Rinaldo Hair Designers here in Ottawa this past weekend. They were so kind as to offer me a Skin Specific Advanced Facial, as well as a hair wash and blow out.  Spoiler alert: I will 100% be recommending you check them out if you haven’t already, or to return if you were looking for something new to try there! I am feeling so relaxed today all thanks to my amazing pampering session on Saturday.  I was treated so well and I can’t wait to go back again.

Let’s get into the review!

LaCoupe- Revive & Repair Naturals Line Review

Hi beauties, coming at you today with some haircare! I was super excited to receive this LaCoupe Revive & Repair line which includes a shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioner from their Naturals collection. I have always loved one of LaCoupe’s hairsprays so I was super excited to try this line as I haven’t tried any of their shampoo and conditioners. I also recently added some bleach balayage to my hair and i’ve never had bleach in it before, so I have been experiencing some dry strands and so this couldn’t have come at a better time.  Thank you to Langton PR for sending this to me. Now let’s dive in to the review 🙂

Conair- Infiniti PRO Hair Dryer and Relfections LED Mirror Review

I am SO excited to share this post with you all!  Conair sent me a hair dryer and mirror and I am absolutely so in love with both products.  Thanks so much to Conair for sending these and the team at Brill Communications.  I’m going to jump right in to the review because I just can’t wait!

The two products I will review today are:

Infiniti PRO Hair Dryer

Reflections LED Mirror

Reviews:

Infiniti PRO Hair Dryer:

WOW! I was blown away (no pun intended 😉 ) by how well this works!! The Infiniti PRO is my favourite hair dryer by far.  I am absolutely so impressed with how well it performs.  This hair dryer has dual voltage, so it is your best-friend when travelling.  My favourite feature is the AC motor because it dries hair faster than a regular hair dryer that has a DC motor.  My hair is dried in half the amount of time it usually takes me compared to when I use my other hair dryer from another brand.  I have fine hair and a lot of the time drying/styling it can be a pain.  Especially when I am getting due for a haircut, however, the Infiniti PRO has ionic technology, so it tames frizz and makes your hair look quite shiny.  I found this to be extra noticeable when I got closer to needing a haircut because my ends weren’t super frizzy after drying my hair.

The Infiniti PRO comes with two attachments, a diffuser to enhance curles and waves, and a concentrator for pinpoint styling.

There are 3 heat settings, 2 speed settings, and a cold shot button to help you lock in the style you create.

I have been using this hair dryer for a month now and I am hooked.  I am so happy with the results, and I love how the dryer is quite small yet it gives big results.  It is smaller in size than the average hair dryer (so easy to pack when travelling),  AND it performs better than other hair dryers I have tried, so it’s a win-win!  Plus the colour of it is purple and that’s always a plus in my books.  You can purchase the Infiniti PRO for C$59.99.

Reflections LED Mirror:

I am loving this mirror! I have been wanting to try a mirror with an LED light, but I wasn’t really sold on the fact that it would really be all that much different than my handheld mirror.  However, since receiving this Conair Reflections LED mirror, I can’t go back to a mirror without the LED light.  This mirror is great because it has two sides, one regular magnification at 1x and the other side at 7x.  The LED light technology is also energy saving, consuming 70% less energy than with a regular bulb.  It has two settings for the intensity of the light as well, so you can have it on low or high, or you can choose to use it with the light turned off as well.

Here is a photo of the mirror without the light turned on:

Here is a photo with the LED light on the higher setting:

This mirror is great for doing your makeup, and anything eyebrows and skin related as it really gives you a close look and shows every pore (although that might be something we don’t want to see hehe).  I love to wear eyeshadow and when I use this mirror it really gives me a close look at where I need to blend, and the LED light helps me to create a look that is flattering in the natural light for a daytime look as well as an evening look.   Another plus is that the mirror doesn’t get all foggy if you leave it out in the bathroom.  I moved recently, but before I moved the exhaust fan in the bathroom didn’t work the best so the mirror on the wall would always get foggy when you took a shower.  Yet I was surprised to see the Conair mirror would not get foggy, this is because it has fog-free and anti-glare viewing!  I also love the oval shape of this mirror and the polished chrome finish, it makes for a beautiful piece to leave out on your vanity.  I have this set up on my bathroom countertop and it really adds to the decor.  It’s really great to have a product that looks really nice aesthetically so you can leave it out as part of your decor and also reach for it easily when you want to use it.   You can purchase the Reflections LED mirror for C$49.99.

I highly recommend both of these products, you will not be disappointed!!  Conair has always been a brand that I have used and trusted, and I truly am so impressed with both of these products, i’m in love!

Have you tried either of these?  What’s your favourite Conair product?

Batiste- Original Dry Shampoo Review

Wish you could get ready faster in the morning and get some extra sleep?  Well my friends, Batiste dry shampoo can help.

I would like to thank Batiste for sending me this product to review.  This is a collaboration through the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Network.

If you feel rushed in the morning when getting ready for work, or you just want to sleep in a little longer, let me tell you that dry shampoo will be your new best-friend if you have not yet discovered this gem.  I have been using dry shampoo for about 2 years now and it saves me so much time.  The only tricky thing is finding a brand that works with your hair type.  Different brands work better for different people i’m sure, so this post will share my personal experiences and preferences.

I have been using Batiste dry shampoo for about 6 months now, and I am in love with the Tropical blend which has coconut Mmmm.  I purchased this one because coconut is one of my favourite scents, but also because I could never seem to get my hands on a bottle of the Original Clean & Classic, the shelf was always empty!  However, recently I was fortunate enough to get a bottle, and now Batiste has sent me a bottle as well, AMEN! Haha.  The Original Clean & Classic has a very light fresh scent, it really helps to give that “clean feel” to your hair, as if you just washed it.

Dry shampoo is wonderful because it allows you to get away with 1 or 2 day old hair (depending on your hair type) by spraying this into your roots (and rest of your hair if you want) to absorb the excess oil.  Personally I wash my hair every second day, so I wash it one day then use dry shampoo the next, but that is my preference.  I have friends with thicker hair who can go a few days longer than that, just by using dry shampoo.  Batiste is by far one of my favourite dry shampoo brands.  When I use dry shampoo I always do an up-do.  It helps to add body to my fine hair and makes my roots look thicker.  One of the downfalls of most dry shampoo’s however,  is if you spray too close to your hair you end up with a white film, which you can brush out, but what I love about Batiste is it is EASY to brush out if you do accidentally spray to close (Batiste suggests holding the can 30cm from your hair to avoid this.)

I have tried 4 other dry shampoo brands, and although I will not name specific brand names, I developed a cough from using one of them.  I even tried stepping outside to spray it in my hair and still no luck- it was too strong, but I have NOT had this problem with Batiste at all, I can in fact spray it on my hair indoors and stay in the same room.

I highly recommend you give this a try!  Batiste dry shampoo retails for C$8.76.  It saves you time and it adds body to your hair, so if you have fine hair like me you will fall in love with this product.  Tip: Because this dry shampoo is so popular I suggest grabbing a few cans at a time when you purchase it in store!
