La Roche-Posay- Hyalu B5 Serum Review

Lately, i’ve been talking skincare a lot, and today i’m doing just that again lol.  I started thinking about incorporating serums into my skincare as i’ve read through research that they tend to penetrate the skin better than a cream and provide great results.  La Roche-Posay is one of my all time favourite skincare brands, I have never been disappointed with any of their products. They recently released a product called Hyalu B5 Serum and I can’t get enough- continue reading for my review.

I have absolutely been obsessed with finding products that contain hyaluronic acid lately.  Through my research i’ve read that it’s supposed to be incredibly hydrating for the skin, and also helps with wrinkles.  This Hyalu B5 Serum is supposed to be a fresh replumping hydrating water-gel.  It claims to help with wrinkles, loss of volume, elasticity and tired/dull skin.

I have used a full bottle of this and I can truly say I see a big difference in my skin. When it comes to skincare I have always been very good at keeping up with my routine and to be honest I didn’t switch it up very often from my staple products. But I am SO GLAD I decided to give this a try, and I can say for sure I am incorporating this into my skincare routine permanently.

La Roche-Posay website states Hyalu B5 Serum benefits are “Skin immediately recovers bounce, suppleness and healthy-fresh complexion. Wrinkles and fine lines look reduced. Skin looks replumped as if renewed.” and I’m here to tell you this is all true.

The formula is watery but it does have some thickness to it.  It comes in a clear glass bottle with a dropper.

The formula is made with thermal water and includes hyaluronic acid, vitamin B5 and madecassoside. Upon application it can feel a bit sticky but it quickly absorbs into the skin, and once I put my moisturizer over top I forget I even have the serum on. It feels SO good on the skin and really gives my skin the “fresh drink of water” it needs.  Hyaluronic acid can also hold up to 1000x its weight in water, so I have really seen a difference in the absorption of my moisturizer.  For your reference I have combination skin, and after using this whole bottle I have noticed the following:

  • Skin is hydrated and no longer dry
  • Pores are minimized
  • Skin looks glowy
  • Skin feels extremely soft
  • “Wrinkles” on forehead are diminished
  • Texture is more even

I applied this every evening after cleansing my face and followed with moisturizer and the rest of my skincare.  You can apply it twice daily but I stuck to at night only because applying a hyaluronic acid can cause sun-sensitivity.

The Hyalu B5 Serum has a light refreshing scent and I really can’t get enough. My bottle is empty right now and I can promise you I am running over to  Shoppers Drug Mart tonight to get my next one. You can purchase it there for C$55.00.  Trust me, you won’t regret it!
