Following my skincare post from yesterday, I have another must-have for you! Shiseido released the Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector Broad Spectrum SPF 42 for face and it is so comfortable to wear.
I turned 27 last week and because I am approaching my 30’s I got thinking about my skincare and what I could add to my routine to help fight the signs of aging and to better take care of my skin. Upon doing some research I found over and over again that wearing sunscreen every day rain or shine is an important step in skincare. This is something I haven’t really done, unless I was going to the beach or knowing i’d be spending a prolonged period of time outside in the sun. But this really got me thinking and I wanted to incorporate a sunscreen I could wear every day into my routine, and it just so happened I received this one in my gift bag at Dave Lackie’s Cityline taping event.
Shiseido are well-known for their skincare and I know they are a favourite of Dave Lackie’s (my favourite beauty editor/guru) and so I decided to give this one a try and I am obsessed. This sunscreen specifically designed for the face has SPF of 42 and absorbs excess sebum and gives a matte texture to the skin, so it’s wonderful for those of you who have oily skin like me. It is oil-free and promotes the natural beauty of the skin by protecting it against “external aggressors” and helping to prevent oxidation.
This keeps my skin looking matte and gives a beautiful finish, it looks healthy and hydrated and it makes me feel even better to know I am protecting my skin against pollution and UV rays. The consistency is very thin (almost watery-like) and it blends in beautifully to the skin, only for I know I applied it I would forget I even put it on because you really don’t feel it. Another plus to this product is that it doesn’t smell like sunscreen the entire time you have it on. When I first apply it there is a faint “sunscreen” smell, but once it’s blended into the skin you can’t smell it anymore. Another huge plus is that it doesn’t clog pores whatsoever, I have been using this for over a week now and I have zero clogged pores.

You can see how lightweight the product is, and don’t worry it doesn’t stay white like this. Once you blend it in it literally disappears into the skin and leaves you with a beautiful matte finish.
I am so happy I received this product because I really love it, and I will most definitely be repurchasing this when it runs out. You can pick one up for C$40.00 at Sephora, click here to shop the product. What is your favourite facial sunscreen? Or do you not incorporate sunscreen into your routine?
