O.M.G. matte eyeshadow at it’s best. I haven’t bought an eyeshadow palette in a long time because I always seem to stay true to my favs. I am certainly glad I got the Too Faced Natural Matte Eyeshadow Palette because it rocks. I have hooded eyes, and for all of my hooded ladies and gents this is a must-have in your collection. Let’s dive right in!
I picked this up at Sephora for C$55.00. To be honest, when I saw this I thought “Hmmmm.. $55 for 9 shadows?” to me it seemed a bit expensive. I’ve seen a lot of palettes in this same price range that have 12-15 shadows. However, when I saw it in the store and swatched the colours I just had to try it out.
I remember getting the original Natural Eyes palette by Too Faced years and years ago and I loved it then also. This palette is the “revamped” version of that one with some new shades and much nicer packaging. The packaging before was cardboard and I can remember the corners always getting dented and it would start to look ugly. The new packaging is heavier and plastic so it won’t get damaged and it keeps your shades nice and clean with the tight-closing lid. The palette also comes with a great mirror that I actually use, and normally i’m not one to use the mirrors that are built inside the palette.
The shadow formula blends beautifully and they marry well together. You can use the shades designed to go together to create looks, or you can mix and match the shades because they all look great together. There is a bit of fallout with these, but it doesn’t bug me that much. The BEST part about this palette is that the eyeshadow smells like coconut, because they are coconut butter infused. Literally, every time I use it I pray that my eyelids continue to smell like coconut- Lol. But on a serious note, if you have trouble blending shades together you would love this because the formula practically does it for you- it really is almost impossible to screw up. The shadows also perform well in the heat! I went on a hike last weekend (don’t judge me for wearing eyeshadow on a hike) and it was really REALLY hot out and the shadow didn’t budge or crease (I also had lid primer on underneath though). In terms of the shadow colours, I just can’t get enough!! There is nothing wrong with orange-toned browns, however, I don’t find these suit me very well. In this palette the browns are true to colour so they don’t apply orange. The only shade that has a slight orange tint is “Au Natural” but I love it, it’s subtle.
Here is a pic in darker lighting:
I give the Too Faced Natural Matte Eyeshadow Palette a solid 10 out of 10! In my opinion it is definitely worth the money. The formula is awesome, the packaging is nice and includes a great mirror, you can create natural and dramatic looks AND the shadows blend amazingly and smell divine. Have you tried this palette?
